Dusty boots

After a few days of early morning fog, we got a nice clear morning that lured us out early. I went further uphill than normal, but still got to sit a bit to capture a few more trees... A nice break from all the driving and technology; and an excellent excuse to pig out on Chinese food afterwards.
Mmmm.

Here's a photo of the scene.

Thanks Ken. Helps to restore the sanity; both the hiking and the drawing. Lucky to end up with a nice momento from that as well. :)

Lovely drawing, Wendee - it really captures the feeling of being in the forest.

What a lovely drawing. I always envy people who can draw something that looks like what it is. =)

Thank you, Susan - Oh, that's the secret. You think that's what it looked like ... ;) Well, it's a close facsimile; it sure helps to have it all right there in front and all around you. [Sigh] All those years in school, drawing away...

I'll have to load the pictures - - the fall has been really pretty. Thanks for stopping by :)

Karen - I wanted to get more depth in this one, show the windy path and the trees ... rather than a vignette of yet another lone gnarly tree. This is further up than normal, beyond where the stream runs (more) full. Water runs by, but it's really just a trickle. Since it's further up, there are less hikers that pass by. So, the spot is much more quiet, and the critters get brave and venture out. Really, really nice. :)
